Microsoft Dynamics 365 – 2022 April Release wave 1

Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a truly international solution offering a seamless, dependable service and platform to run your business. Each April and October, Microsoft releases upgrades to boost functionality and meet the demands of a growing customer base. The latest update was released on 1st April 2022. 

With Microsoft Dynamics 365 2022 release wave 1, Business Central is now available in more than 70 countries and regions worldwide. This release focuses on improvements that help customers onboard and become productive—faster. Below are some of the highlights that we know will be of interest to our international customers.

• Improved onboarding

  A new Help pane offers expanded possibilities ensuring easier and faster onboarding of new and existing users. Featuring an intuitive and user-friendly experience, it’s designed to help users find exactly what they’re looking for. This go-to resource presents automatically generated contextual help links to both Microsoft documents and documents from installed apps. Plus, enhanced menu navigation helps improve performance in daily operations.

• Better with Microsoft Teams

  Microsoft extends the integration between Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Teams by allowing users to create appointments in Dynamics 365 and include a Microsoft Teams meeting. Users no longer need to create Microsoft Teams meetings outside of Dynamics 365 helping save time and effort. They can also join a Team meeting directly from a Dynamics 365 appointment or the timeline. Plus, users will also be informed whenever an answer to a question has changed saving time and offering a reminder for those who might forget to check back.

• Customized layouts for reporting

  Dynamics 365 2022 release wave 1 includes enhanced reporting capabilities with Excel layouts. It offers new functionality for financial reporting with account schedules making it easier to produce reports in customized layouts. For instance, users can export and import Account Schedules to/from files between companies, control how zeros are printed, and more.

• Modern advanced find
  

  This new Release Wave introduces a modern advanced find with a new view management experience. This functionality allows users to access advanced find through the global Dataverse search bar. Thanks to an enhanced selector, users can search for a view as well as create personalized views which can be hidden and reordered across all devices. Furthermore, with structured search and filters, users can explore any table in a model-driven app.

• Power Platform

  Business Central 20 also offers improvements for developers. It includes enhanced data integration and new governance administration capabilities to empower digital transformation. Improvements within Power Automate also mean it’s easier to set up workflows for specific organizational needs. Furthermore, Microsoft continues to enhance productivity for developers by introducing GitHub Go for partners. This allows them to set up CI/CD for their apps with minimal effort.
